About Me

For the past forty years I have been an operations research analyst in a wide variety of roles for a diverse set of organizations and institutions. This, of course, includes experience with data science tools, machine learning, decision systems design, dashboard design, and strategic planning.
Beginning around 2000 I became aware that the traditional tools of statistics, data analysis, systems engineering, and operations research tend to fail in the face of real-world systems of interacting human beings.
Besides my research area, I’m also an avid bicycle tourist. I rode a century (100 miles or km) in every state. Some of my photos and discussions are on the bicycling page.
